Of magical beanstalks
Starry trails
Gomphocarpus physocarpus
Bells of Ireland
Broody cocoons
& a fungi bungee.
Bells and Berries Enchantangle emerged from my fascination with the strange beauty that arises when disparate forms, stories, and species become entangled. The title references a world of magical beanstalks, starry trails, brooding cocoons, fungi, seedpods, and imagined botanical life, woven together into a dense and evolving ecosystem.
Part of my ongoing Alien Landscapes series, this painting explores the porous boundaries between the natural and the fantastical. The work celebrates the enchanted everyday, the wonder hidden within processes of growth, decay, mutation, and renewal. It invites viewers to slow down and wander through a world where beauty, absurdity, and ecological imagination are deeply intertwined.
